Promise Ogechukwu Agunechibe is a leadership and social impact advocate, informed activist, civic engagement practitioner, writer, and mentor, whose work is dedicated to raising transformational leaders and building stronger, more inclusive communities across Nigeria and beyond.

She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Promise Initiative for Leadership, Empowerment and Development (PILE-D), a nonprofit organization committed to leadership development, youth and women empowerment, civic participation, community transformation, and sustainable social impact.

Promise has invested years in mentoring young people, women, and emerging leaders through leadership trainings, civic education, purpose discovery, and community-based initiatives. She has facilitated leadership and empowerment programmes in different schools, universities, correctional institutions, and underserved communities across Nigeria, inspiring participants to embrace responsible citizenship, ethical leadership, and lives of purpose.

As a member of the Board and Executive Leadership of Prison Fellowship International (Nigeria), she has contributed to advocacy, rehabilitation, and reintegration initiatives that support incarcerated and formerly incarcerated persons, helping them transition toward meaningful, productive lives through mentorship, leadership development, and community support.

Her experience also includes contributing to the SURGE and ACCESS International Projects, where she worked alongside partners to strengthen leadership capacity, expand opportunities, and promote sustainable development within local communities.

Since relocating to Canada, Promise has continued her commitment to service and leadership. She is an active leading role member with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 117, Ontario, serves on the Advocacy and Leadership Executive of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) – National Members of Women Group, where she champions grassroots conversations, women’s leadership, equity, and meaningful civic participation.

A passionate leader in PowerShift Africa movement, Promise believes that meaningful national transformation is built on courageous conversations, ethical leadership, active citizenship, and people who are willing to move beyond awareness into meaningful engagement and participation. She currently serves as the Country Director of PowerShift Canada, where she is advancing the movement’s vision by fostering leadership development, civic engagement, and meaningful collaboration among Africans in the diaspora while strengthening connections with transformative conversations shaping Africa’s future.
