Itswell Ya’u Magyaring is a passionate education advocate, certified project manager, and development practitioner based in Jos Nigeria. She currently serves as the Programs Manager at Girls Education Mission International (GEM), an organization she grew up as one of it’s pioneer beneficiaries, and now as a frontline leader committed to ensuring girls stay in school and reach their full potential.
With a degree in Education and hands-on experience as a former primary school teacher, Itswell channels her expertise into designing and leading impactful programs for children and youth within Plateau State and beyond. Her leadership extends beyond education-focused spaces.
She is a fellow of Powershift Africa cohort 2 and now serves as a mentor, facilitator and operations officer and the current Treasurer of the YALI Plateau Network, where she contributes to fostering civic leadership and youth engagement. Driven by personal experience, professional insight, and a deep belief in equality, she is also a compelling public speaker on issues ranging from girls’ education to gender equity, youth empowerment, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
