Biography
A transformative leader and passionate advocate for nation-building, Nonso Nnamani is committed to reshaping Nigeria’s political landscape and empowering a new generation of young, visionary leaders across Africa. With over a decade of hands-on experience in public service, leadership training, and civic engagement, he leverages an extensive background in IT/digital transformation, and experience in community-focused initiatives to drive sustainable development and youth engagement.
With expertise in digital transformation and product experience across education, eCommerce, and financial sectors, He brings a unique perspective to policy-making, with a focus on technological solutions that address socio-economic challenges. His commitment to civic responsibility and ethical leadership continues to inspire his efforts toward a more inclusive, empowered Nigeria, where young people play an integral role in national development.
He began his journey in student politics, where he served as Student Union President at Enugu State University of Science and Technology. This experience, along with his role as coordinator for the American Corner in Enugu, cemented his belief in the power of youth-led leadership. He further honed his governance and international diplomacy skills as a participant in the British Council’s Africa-UK project and through European Union election training.
He graduated from Enugu State University of Science and Technology with a degree in Computer Engineering. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University and a postgraduate course credit in Research in Information Systems from the University of South Africa. A graduate of the prestigious School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG) and the Joseph Business School’s train-the-trainer program in the United States.
In 2018 he served as a State Chairman in the Alliance for New Nigeria political party (ANN) and in September 2019, ran for House of Assembly representing Enugu South Urban constituency under the same party coming second place at the polls.
In 2020, during Nigeria’s EndSARS protests, He launched Power Shift, a youth-focused political movement that started as a book and quickly evolved into a movement and political academy. Power Shift has held several conferences, including its flagship Power Shift Enugu Conference and the 2022 Power Shift Abuja Conference, featuring prominent leaders and advocates for change. This initiative empowers young people to take active roles in governance, encouraging political engagement and skills development for effective leadership.
Nonso is a member of Fix Politics Nigeria, He served as a board member of the Enugu State Water Corporation, where he actively contributed to strategic planning and oversight, ensuring efficient service delivery and accountability. He currently serves on the board of the Young Leaders Club, a nonprofit organization focused on equipping secondary school students with leadership and managerial skills.
In 2023, He ran as a candidate for the House of Representatives under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, advocating for policies that uplift and engage the youth while driving social and economic progress, again he came second at the polls securing over 9,000 votes. Eventually, he was appointed as the APGA Chairman for Enugu East Senatorial Zone—a role he recently resigned from to focus on non-partisan nation-building.
